The law of Ohio does not specifically use the term latchkey children should not be left home alone. It states that children under the age of 12 should not be left home alone without proper supervision. For the fear of child endangerment. The law tries to protect all children, although your children are well trained, they still could be faced with endangerment. For example, suppose the older child gets hurt, instead of the younger child, or both children for that matter, were neither could get help. The parent could be charge with child endangerment. Not along ago, a parent left their child home to go to a corner store. Upon return the child had set the house on fire. Although she felt her child was competent, children still will be children. As a parent, you're left with counting the cost. What cost will you pay for your children safty?
