Hi, I have an illigitimate son from a breif relationship that i had witha woman four years ago. I did not know that my son was mine until he was a year old. She refused to have the dna tests done, the reason I wanted tehm done was becouse she told me that my son was not mine several times and then would come back ans say she was just saying that out of anger. I did not know what to beleive so i asked her to get the dna tests done, she refused ans sis not cooperate until my son was a year old. As soon as the results were in I started paying child support, it was never ordered though any court, we just had an agreement drwn up, but it was never filed in any state. I have visited with my son although they were few and far apart becouse I was in college in Florida ans he was in Illinois. I stayed in Florida for 4 years to finish my degree and as soon as I graduated moved back to illinois to be closer to him. I am marroed now and have another child. My son's mother keeps saying that I abandoned him, can she say this? I have every check stub from the time the dna tests were done ans have pictures of us together. His mother is going through an ugly violent divorce and her husband has been in prison and she is working at a strip club ans has been for the past 2 years. I would like my son to stay with my wife ans I while all of this is going on, can I file for tempoary custody???? Can I keep him if she doesnt get her life together? She is moving again, this will be the 5th time just this year.
